23 Airsoft Rifles With a Wolverine INFERNO Already Fitted

Sig Sauer MPX SMG black airsoft rifle with pre-installed Wolverine INFERNO Gen 2 engine – left-side full view

Twenty-three rifles have just landed at Airsoft Direct with a Wolverine INFERNO Gen 2 engine already fitted, a Spartan fire control unit board wired in, and an FCU battery in the box. Prices run from £409.95 to £814.95, and every one of them is in stock right now.

The reason this matters has nothing to do with the technology and everything to do with the invoice. The usual route to an HPA gun is four separate decisions: buy a base gun, buy an engine, buy a board, then find a tech with a free slot and hand the whole lot over for a fortnight. Every step is a cost, and two of them are a wait. These 23 collapse that into one line item, one delivery, and one conversation if something goes wrong. You take it out of the box, connect your air, and go.

What is actually in the box

Consistent across the range, the same three things arrive fitted or included:

  • Wolverine INFERNO Gen 2 engine, pre-installed. Not supplied loose in a jiffy bag for you to fit. It is in the gun, assembled and tested.
  • Spartan FCU board. The programmable fire control unit that runs trigger response and fire modes.
  • FCU battery. The small cell that powers the board. Easy to forget when you spec a conversion yourself, and irritating to discover missing on a Saturday morning.

A few models bring extras worth knowing about. Both Cyma Standard M4s, the 8.5-inch and the 10.5-inch, ship with a tracer hop-up unit fitted, the only two in the batch whose descriptions list one. The Double Bell TTI M4 Custom at £569.95 comes with a 1-4×20 variable optic and a TTI custom grip, so the sight budget is already covered.

What is not included: the air source

Nothing here ships with air. You still supply the tank, the regulator and the line yourself, and that is a genuine additional cost that has to sit in your budget alongside the gun. If you already run HPA you have this sorted. If you are coming to it fresh, work out the rig before you order the rifle, not after. Our HPA Airsoft Setup Guide covers what to buy and how the parts fit together.

The full range, dearest to cheapest

All 23, with what each one is genuinely best suited to. The whole lot lives in the Airsoft HPA Rifles category.

How the price ladder actually works

The engine, board and battery are the same across the range. What you are paying for as the price climbs is the host gun: the licensing, the externals, the build materials and the ergonomics. That is the honest shape of it.

At the bottom, roughly £409.95 to £520, you are on unlicensed Chinese platforms. Double Bell, Cyma, Double Eagle, Well, JG, Huntsman, AGM/S&T. These are the workhorses of British skirmish sites and there is no shame in any of them. From around £610 you are into licensed territory: EMG’s collaborations with Daniel Defense, Strike Industries and Taran Tactical, and the Sig Sauer builds. The trade markings are real, the externals are better finished, and you pay for it.

One thing worth being straight about: the EMG x Daniel Defense DDM4 at £619.95 runs Cyma internals under the licensed shell. That is not a criticism of the gun, and with an INFERNO doing the actual work the base gearbox matters far less than it would in an AEG. But be clear about what the extra £100 over a Double Bell buys you: the trademarks, the finish and the Daniel Defense ergonomics, not exotic internals.

Picks by role

Best CQB and SMG

For pure indoor and urban work, the Double Eagle M924 DMP-9 SMG at £434.95 is the value answer. Compact profile, easy-access receiver, and the cheapest route into a proper HPA SMG in this batch. Step up to the Sig Sauer MPX-K Sportsline at £504.95 if you want licensed Sig ergonomics without the top-shelf price, or the Sig Sauer MPX SMG at £814.95 if budget is not the constraint. That is a big gap between the two Sigs, so look at both product pages side by side before you commit.

The Cyma Standard M4 8.5 M-LOK at £509.95 deserves a mention here too. Short handguard, M-LOK for a light, and the tracer hop-up already fitted for night games.

Best all-round skirmish rifle

If you play a normal mix of woodland and buildings and want one gun to cover it, the Cyma Standard M4 10.5 M-LOK at £509.95 is the sensible pick. Familiar platform, spares everywhere, tracer unit included, and nothing about it will surprise you badly. The Double Bell 416-A5 at the same £519.95 mark is the alternative if you prefer the HK profile and controls.

Best DMR

Only one real candidate: the Double Bell M16 SPR MOD2 DMR at £409.95. Full metal CNC construction, the recognised SPR silhouette, and it happens to be joint cheapest in the whole range. If you want a marksman gun and you were going to buy a base rifle and convert it anyway, this is a difficult one to argue against.

Best licensed and premium builds

The EMG x TTI TR-1 10" M4E1 Ultralight SBR at £609.95 is the one to look at if you play speedsoft or anything where handling speed decides games. The EMG x Strike Industries PWS 9mm Carbine at £634.95 is the pistol-calibre carbine option, and the Strike Industries controls are genuinely well thought out rather than decorative.

Best for milsim loadouts

The Double Bell L119A2 Neptune SAS at £509.95 is the obvious one for UK unit impressions, metal bodied and correct in profile. For something with more history to it, the AGM/S&T MK44 at the same price runs metal and wood furniture, which is rare in a gun that also has a modern HPA engine in it.

Best value entry

The JG Ika Zuchi at £409.95 is the cheapest way into the range. No frills, decent JG receiver, plenty of room to upgrade the externals later while the internals are already sorted. The two Huntsman PDWs at £444.95 are next up and are the compact option at that money.

The two pairs, explained

Two models appear twice, and the difference is not obvious from the titles. The JW4 Dracarys comes as an M-LOK version at £584.95 and a Keymod version at £604.95. Same Gen12 platform, same INFERNO Gen 2 engine, different rail standard. M-LOK is where the accessory market has settled, so the cheaper one is arguably also the more useful one.

The Huntsman Tactical M4 PDW pair are both £444.95. The RONIN is full metal; the standard PDW has a polymer body. Same money, so it comes down to whether you want the rigidity and weight or you want to carry less all day.

Who should not buy one of these

Plenty of players are better off spending the money elsewhere, and we would rather say so now than process a return later.

  • You already own a gun you like. If the externals suit you and the platform is sound, converting what you have is almost always cheaper than buying a whole new rifle. Read Why the Ares HPA Engine (HEB-001) Belongs in Your Upgrade Plans before you spend £500 replacing a gun you were happy with.
  • Your site restricts HPA. Some UK sites limit or ban HPA outright, and others require the rig to be checked before you play. Ring them before you order, not after.
  • The air rig will not fit the budget. The tank, regulator and line are on top of the gun price. If the sums only just work for the rifle, you will end up with an expensive paperweight.
  • You are not sure HPA is right for you at all. The line, the tank on your back and the fill routine change how you play, and not everyone gets on with it. Our HPA vs AEG: Which Is Right for UK Airsoft Players? lays out the trade-offs properly before you spend anything.
  • You hop between many different sites and want zero faff. A good AEG travels lighter and asks fewer questions at the safety brief.

Where to start

If the air rig is already sorted and you simply want the best gun for the money, look at the £509.95 to £519.95 band first. That is where the range is strongest: the two Cyma M4s, the 416-A5, the L119A2 and the MK44 all sit there, and the gap in real-world performance between that band and the £600-plus licensed guns is smaller than the price difference suggests.

The full range is in the Airsoft HPA Rifles category, all in stock, all ready to ship. These are RIFs, so UK buyers need a valid defence such as UKARA registration or site membership before we can send one out.
