This Airsoft replica is gas powered and non-blowback, meaning the slide does not cycle when the pistol is fired. This results in a much quieter shot, better gas efficiency and an average higher output than a pistol that recoils with every shot.
It is a very close replica of the ASG / TM MK23 which feels absolutely identical in the hands, and is essentially the exact same RIF. It even comes included with the typical SOCOM style suppressor which (surprise, surprise) is actually an inner barrel extension which improves range and output FPS when installed to the pistol.
With the suppressor remove it ran an average of about 280FPS through the chronograph, and 330-350FPS with the suppressor installed. This is great as other brands of this pistol tends to get a little ‘hot’ with the suppressor installed, so it’s nice to see that you should be able to get some gameplay in with the suppressor installed.
(Ambient temp. dependent). The RIF has an gear-operated adjustable Hop which is accessed by remove the top slide and making adjustments to the wheel. This is best when used in conjunction with a heavyweight BB (0.28g or heavier) to create as much backspin as possible without lifting the BB too hard.
The Magazine holds a total of 28 BBs and is filled from the bottom with gas via the inlet valve. If you’re looking for the ultimate backup to a sniper rifle on a budget, or want a project pistol that is highly modifiable to reach out to crazy ranges, and doing some whilst staying ultimately silent, the STTI ST-23 is the sidearm for you.
