Airsoft Direct stocks one of the UK’s largest ranges of airsoft guns, covering every platform, price point, and playing style. Whether you are looking for a full-auto AEG assault rifle for regular skirmishing, a gas blowback pistol for an authentic sidearm experience, a precision bolt-action sniper, or a budget spring gun for your first time on the field, you will find it here. We carry the industry’s leading brands — Tokyo Marui, G&G Armament, KRYTAC, Delta Armory, ASG, and many more — alongside our own competitive range of Kombat UK military and tactical equipment. All airsoft guns are sold in compliance with UK law. You must be 18 or over to purchase. RIF (realistic imitation firearm) purchases require a valid UKARA number or an alternative qualifying defence.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best airsoft gun for beginners in the UK?

Most UK players start with an AEG (automatic electric gun). It runs on a rechargeable battery, needs very little maintenance and keeps working in cold weather, where gas guns lose power. If you do not have a UKARA defence yet, a two-tone AEG is the usual first buy, and you can move on to a full-colour RIF once you qualify.

Do I need a licence to own an airsoft gun in the UK?

No licence is needed to own an airsoft gun. Under the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006, buying a realistic imitation firearm (RIF) needs a valid defence. For most players that defence is being a regular skirmisher at an insured site, which is what UKARA registration confirms. Anyone aged 18 or over can buy a two-tone (an imitation that is at least 51% brightly coloured) without a defence.

What FPS limits apply to airsoft guns in the UK?

UK law does not set one FPS figure for airsoft. Limits are set by each site. Most sites allow around 350 FPS with a 0.20g BB for full-auto rifles, with higher limits and minimum engagement distances for semi-auto DMRs and bolt-action snipers. Always check the rules of the site you play at, and have your gun chronographed on the day.

What is the difference between AEG, GBB and HPA airsoft guns?

An AEG (automatic electric gun) uses a battery-powered motor and gearbox. It is reliable and low maintenance. A GBB (gas blowback) uses gas to cycle the action, which gives realistic recoil. An HPA (high pressure air) gun runs from a remote air tank for consistent FPS whatever the temperature. AEGs suit beginners. GBB and HPA suit players who want more realism or tuning.
